remove everything... then if it's a bunch of individual stems, plant each stem by itself about 2 cm from each other... if it's the single plants, plant where you want it but not so deep that the leaves and stem are covered by gravel..... use tweezers make planting easier and less damage to plant stem compared to clumsy fingers..

Are you trying to ask if the plant will survive in a pail of water or in a fish tank -- both w/p injected CO2?
I would say it will do better in the fish tank because there would be other nutrients available. Less CO2 means slower growth.
However in a clean pail of water where all nutrients or light are missing, the plant can possibly show deterioration after a few days.

Hey, if you are serious about aquatic plants...u must remove the plastic holder, the wool and everything. They can really foul up your tank.

For example, your plants' root would not be able to establish in the tank.

One thing to note, clean the plant and remove all cotton wool and cut off stems that have rotten...aka looks dead ...and plant them stem by stem. No two ways about this...although I know this can be back breaking work. But most ppl who are serious bout this hobby do so...even it means 4 hours of work planting hairgrass by the strands....

Alas...what a waste...with such a big tank..you can do wonders with it. (Will definitely look much more natural and majestic if fully planted.) []

but hor, i afraid tat i got no time 2 take care of my
plants later if i go after a fully planted tank. also, i'm
poor wif those chemistry like kh, ph, no2 n etc. so, better
    2 go slow as a start. []

i bought a tube brand called Arcadia tat cost me $33 wif a
30w output 4 a 3' lamp. it cost 3 times more than an
ordinary FL tube. i wonder, is those FL sold in LFS tat
claimed 2 be good 4 planted tank is really neccessary? or can we juz simply used those ordinary white tube?

will try 2 venture into a forest later. haha
