I stay in Tampines, but I wonder if any shop sells, don't mind buying now because I'm quite sianz of the algae in my tennellus
I think it is a wonderful foreground plant but slightly picky. It is good for any algae issues.
Try a large toothed comb for the E. tenellus. Works well on hair grass to remove Cladophora algae.

Tom, you understand what is "sianz"!
By the way, Elatine triandra has its problem too. It grows very fast and require regular trimming. IME, after a few months, the bottom layer will age and start to melt away, then you have to start pulling part of the lawn out to replant.
I just threw out a handful 2 days ago, too bad. My next trimming will be about 2 to 3 weeks time. If you still need it, drop me an e-mail: [email protected]

Well, it's those tiny black bushy algae in my tennellus, so don't think I can remove it with a comb.
Hoping to try other foreground plants as I've only used tennellus and hairgrass in my 3 yrs into planted tanks
elatine triandra does look nice as a foreground plant when they are just a thin layer. very soon they will grow thick and need constant trimming.
quite demanding on nutrients also. once the n is lacking, they melt.
as long as there are sufficient nutrients available, they are easy.

Anyone seen any in any LFS?
Trimming Elantine is much easier for me. It also replants better than Gloss.
Looks good with Hair grass also,. Gloss is more weedy and ratty.

Vican,
I have a chunk of Elatine floating in my tank. Can you email me if you want it? Collect at Ang Mo Kio Ave 10.
Thanks budak,
Nowadays stuck with baby sitting and can't travel far.
I'll email you if I really can't find any in the LFS. Thanks!
