Would like to know which type of plecos would grow to a maximum of 5" in size, beside Bristlenose Nose.
I had 1 normal spotted pleco and albino pleco that grew upto 10" in just a couple of months, that's not what I am looking for, but they are dirt cheap.
What's the price range for these plecos that will not grow that big?

Try L134, currently they are reasonably priced from $25-$50 depending on maturity.
They stay small until 5th year.
    Normally they are 2 - 3 inches

    Because 134 is inexpensive.
I tend not to recommend starter to spend alot on zebra and etc.
In the end, the fish may die and starter lost interest with the hobby.
    We need more hobbyists

Ya, barmby is right, years back, when told by a lfs about the price of L series pleco, I can't believe anyone would pay that kind of price.
At that time, I only know of ordinary juvenile pleco that costs only approx $2-$3.
Till now, I still do not know much about plecos, but at least now am willing to pay $10 for a 2" BN, which I will never thought of paying in the past.
I just saw recently, 1 long-fin BN, which caught my attention and started getting interested in plecos.
but of course at this point in time, I will still not pay sky high for 1, at least not as yet.
who knows what will happen in the future, I may just suddenly get this pleco craze and started paying, hahaha.
    Just wait and see lo.

peckoltia and hypancistrus species fall into this category nicely..

of course there are others, like Ancistrini, smaller whiptails group, etc

Too bad you live in Singapore. I have some L134s and L316s fry that would both fit into the category of fish you are looking for.

Wooo...haven't seen a real L134 before, just saw pictures on the website. Look nice, must go search lfs already, not many places sell pleco though.

Many people are letting go, you should look around on local forum buy/sells.

Can find some at certain big LFS also I think.
