It is safer to go with aquarium silicone since it is made to that purpose, other adhensive compound that is not meant for aquarium is best not to be use, unless you do some testing prior to the actual thing.
Is it possible to use hot glue gun with glue stick to attached plants like petite nana to bogwoods, driftwoods and rocks? Will the chemicals in the glue leech into the water over time? Will super glue work also?
Marine silicon is not my solution because they need to be cured for days. I also prefer not to tie because it's a lot of effort if there's a lot of plants to tie.

it;s hard to cure the silicon and keeping the plants alive out of water at the same time for 1-2 days, that's why i am looking for other alternatives.
How about, gluing plastic cups then hiding them with moss?
You can also consider zip ties / cable ties?
- eric
for mini nana, they will not be able to hide those cable ties. Moss i know can.
Have anyone used hot glue or superglue before and not have any adverse effect?
if you use cable ties for the nanas and similar plants, after a while their roots will take over and adhere the plant.. then you can remove the cable ties.
Also you can help by using green cable ties, those meant for flowers and plants. if you want, can also add some moss under it.. the moss will grow over the ties and soon you can see it anymore.
else you can get ada green moss string. it claims to dissolve after a few weeks/months.
