i tried lemon today.. rub and scrub and squeeze.. to no avail.
shall try vinegar tomorrow. if still cannot remove, then i will use mr muscle.

just to check, vinegar, is used to SOAK the stained part. is it? not just wipe right.

for me I just 'soak' the item for a while in acidic water from my water filter dispenser and just wash it off.

Re: Removing Water Stains / Lime Deposits (Secret Weapon)

Anyone has some guaranteed method or chemical that will remove lime deposit? I have very stubborn lime deposits on the front and side of my tank and is very irritating when viewing the tank. I have tried lemon, vinegar, Mr Muscle drain declogger, Harpic power plus toilet cleaner all with no effect

i tired using the melamine sponge but i find not very useful plus there will be fine white power from the sponge. I think there is the ATM water stain removal solution. (cannot remember the exact name). i have not tired it personally but the review i heard is quite good.

Re: Removing Water Stains / Lime Deposits (Secret Weapon)

sorry to revive an old thread. just to share. use fine grit sandpaper on a glass tank. thats what i do. would work on both a running tank and a decomm-ed tank. get a cheapo sandpaper which has a degree of hardness lesser than glass.

frankly i didnt really go find out about the degree of hardness thing. i just bought the cheapest and finest sandpaper i could find and tested it on a small part of a terribly ruined decomm-ed tank and it worked with ease. i have been using it ever since on all tanks (EXCEPT ACRYLIC). Take note to generously wet the sandpaper and the tank surface too.

if anyone wants i could post a picture of the sandpaper i use in an update to this post.

ps. i use this method to clean my toilet shower glass too

Wow. I never try and probably don't dare also.

As for melamine , usually compress the sponge, one action in and out squeeze it out of tank.
the white powder usually comes from squeezing.

Reading more, I wonder if it's meant for the insides of the tank (although non-toxic) as it repels water. On mobile data now, so haven't watched their video.
