hi bros, i just got a 2nd hand solenoid. please help to see if you have encountered leaking from the front of the solenoid before.

    1) There are 2 small holes by the side of the silver knob with the JBJ sticker as indicated in the picture, when i release gas from the cylinder, there is already leaking at the holes when the solenoid at the time is switched off.

i dont think is the solenoid's problem but the main body of the regulator.
have anyone had such issues and know if it can be repaired at any place?

    2) The gauge on the left side of the regulator measuring the gas in the cylinder is at 500 although the regulator isnt connected to co2 cylinder

    could this have any implications?

    thanks

That section is a key aspect of the whole regulator. Your solenoid part is fine as long as you can hear a click sound when the power is turned on. If there is no click sound, you have a spoilt solenoid. I have a similar solenoid regulator from JBJ, and I have never had a leak at that particular "knob" part of the regulator, or anywhere else on the regulator to begin with. You might have to change it, or bring to an LFS for a check.

I would advise you to turn off your CO2 right now, just in case. You don't want a pressurised metal canister to burst in your house due to a leakage at the regulator side.

The left gauge should not have any reading, until you have attached it to the cylinder, and turned on the cylinder's main valve. Only then will the reading show. I believe the left gauge is faulty, since you said it is reading 500 when it is not attached to anything. I would advise you to ask for a refund from the person who sold you the regulator.

I have same problem before, I bring it to NA, Uncle Chan fixed it for me. Basically he replace the silver knob with knob from other brand.
