it should be Doryichthys heterosoma
it should be Doryichthys heterosoma
Not much information to go by on the web, especially for the species you mentioned. I think you have to wait for the gestation period to be over, before the father? releases the fry. From this thread:

Get ready to have some newly hatched BBS on standby, once the fry hatch. I guess, just treat them how you would treat seahorse fry. According to another search result, someone in Germany is breeding another Doryichthys species.

not super sharp but if you know what you are looking fore, you can see the eggs
Nice videos kac. I can see the eggs. They're being held by folds of skin on the male's belly right?

yes, they have not hatched yet but it will probably happen within the next 2 days
heres is a better pic.
Today the eggs are hatched and i have seen a few free swimming pipefish, i have have started with infussoria (beer slippers) and i will probably remove a few of them to a smaller tank.
Congratulations kac. Try taking some close-up shots of the fry.
Perhaps next time you can give the sticklebacks? of the genus Indostoma a try. They are very much similar in behaviour to the pipefish. I had a female once, full of eggs, but she died before there was even a spawning.

Thanks
Tried to get the stickleback but apperently to no avail, it was on the import list and it was ordered, but it never came :-(
I know my fish pusher on a personal level and if it is on an import list he will order it :-)
He also helped me to take these pictures, they are not super but it was the best we could do :-/
Geez they're really tiny kac. Are you feeding them with infusorians first?
