    set temp at 27

the chiller kicks in when temp hits 27.3, stop after cooling to 26.7
is there anyway to change the range to 27.5 start, 26.5 stop?

    thanks on advance

    Re: Arctica Chiller

Why would you want to do that? It'll take the same amount of energy to cool, because it takes a longer time to cool water from 27.5 to 26.5.

Generally speaking a smaller temperature range is better, although it might mean more start stop cycles, which is why nowadays there are 'inverter' air-con units, the compressor has the ability to ramp up and down instead of completely stopping, and restarting.

    Re: Arctica Chiller

    based on my observation

    temperature increase 0.1°C every 15mins
when chiller kicks in, it takes 15mins to cool down the first 0.1°C
subsequently, 3 mins to cool 0.1°C
therefore from 27.3°C to 26.7°C, it takes 30 mins and rest 90 mins

if i can change it to 27.5°C to 26.5°C,
cooling will take app 45 mins
    and rest 150 mins

this has no ill effect on livestock, but definitely save my pocket

    cheers

The only easy way I can think of is to get an external thermostat, like the Fox unit, which allows you to set the range.

    Re: Arctica Chiller

bro, sounds a bit strange. I'm using artica also. If you set at 27c, it should only kick in at 27.5c and stop at 26.5c and not 27.3c & 26.7 respectively that you described. Anyway better not to mess with the thermostat if it is function correctly.. any warranty by JBJ? Maybe can check with them.

bro, I have used artica 1/5hp and now using 1/4 hp and all along it's always +-0.5c from preset temperature for kick in and stop. There is a function to change the display to degree celsius.
