I have tried to grow this plant in the pass with no sucess, i had it in a 10g with 15W X 2, the stem of the plant which was in the gravel kept rotting after i buryed it. I dont' bury it deep perhaps 2cms or so, roots never established. (the plant @ LFS comes in cuttings) Can someone give me advice on planting this plant? I'm trying again, this time in a 55G tank with 36X2, iron based gravel, and duplarit on the bottom. (co2 soon to come as well as addition light 30W Would adding fertizler tabs help.

this is strange. this is actually one of those plants that can't stop growing!

Maybe it is due to the following factors:
    1) you didn't remove the bottom leaves and they rot when buried
    2) the part where it is planted, might have rotting roots or tubers from previous plants that are removed.

Alternatively, you can let this plant grow on the surface first, they grow roots quite well when left to float, after there are roots then youc an try plant them in.

    just ny 2 cents...

IME, these plants will thrive in nutrient rich water, especially with higher NO3.
