That's Diana Walstad's style of no CO2 and using soil. Cheers!
The tank seems to be doing well and algae free. Perhaps can give a little background of the setup?

    Interesting... non-CO2 tank.

How long has the hairgrass been planted? It must take forever for the haigrass to grow w/o CO2.

Where is the dwarf amazon sword you mentioned?

Mine I already chop, chop. But I much said, BJ are nice when they are grown into a brushy ball.

The tank was setup with the purpose of getting the result needed - no CO2 and liquid Fert added. So I purposely chose non-stem plants for easy maintainance and little attention was given to the landscaping. The wood just bought last week. I just need to remove the left bylxa bunch and replace with hairgrass for the zen look.Maybe later. The dwarf amazon sword is actually at the back of the tank. Once in a while they will creep from both sides and centre of tank. They are fast growers and they help to prevent algae outbreak. Just trim them back, so can't see now.I'm happy with the result bcoz I do very little maintenance - top up water when necessary only. And yes, those hairgrass took a long time to grow but then let them be, I believe.

It seems like non-CO2 tank trend is coming... nearly all Sam Yick branches have at one non-CO2 tank.

    Reef,

Try sunset, it lives well in your condition, place 3~5 stalk at the side of the wood. It will blend and harmonise the wood, BJ and HG very well. Cut them short but uneven lengths and one of them 30% taller will look more natural, grow out of wood feel.

The 2 balls and the crooked wood looks like an org...

Care to elaborate on the non-CO2 concept? Sounds very attractive as lesser cost and maintenance.

After reading parts of Diana Walstad's interesting treatise, it makes one wonder whether I'm overspending... Will consider trying it out next time for a new set-up.
