My tank not successful yet. From a scale of 1 to 10. I give 1 pt. for the water perimeters. Everything else, I think failed. Might need to consider to re-do later on. Re-do will not be dependant on CNY already...more on budget.

Me also though of re-doing part of my tank. Now will cut doing on D/W, actually planning like fixing carpet tile on the foreground.

Sure lot of work, meaning ranging from cutting of the mesh and laying the fissiden on the mesh. The last time it took me 2 weeks to complete the D/W. Now should be longer.

Upon complete will try to post photo for your viewing pleasure.

    Cheers, Bro.

    Hey bro,
Had adjusted our conversation to my page, before we got zap...

Yup. Generally hop there for new idea too.

The last time 2 weeks back, I saw them setting up this new tank should be 3 Feet. Very impressive, unfortunately not for beginner like me.

You should be there to see the setup.

According to the forum I read, they will be in Woodlands for 2 years before their contract expired. That is to said that I have less then 2 years to master the skill of Aqua Planting from them.

As for temp. I manage to hold the temp between 27-28 degree, without any cooling equipment.

Only factor now is that I mush improved on my lighting, because partr of the Fissiden tie on the B/W & D/W are turning brown. What stopping me now in purchasing the lighting is because I may intend to upgrade to Juwel / Rio 125 if there is a second hand tank available.

If possible why not arrange for an outing for workshop. Sure hope that Biotope do organise such event. So that more experience planter can guide us junior here.

    Cheers

    Okay,
There is the JBL concept of layout. soil - fert base - soil.

Another Youtube which avocate fert base - soil.

    Ada basics: Topical based.
    http://www.aquajournal.net/na/index.html

When you look at japanese, they advocate blending into with the natural environment from the time of Ultraman, Godzilla until the presence. Each is integrated into their home developing zen mood zen related environment. It depends on which metholody you wish to master. It's not a right-wrong thing sometimes, you do have choice. Western, Middle East, Asia all might differ. Just comparing Japan, Taiwan and Hong Kong, you will see a vast differences already.

Gold Fish alone goes all the way back to Jiang Hu times of Ancient Japan where only the rich could afford them. But today we see Indonesia, Thailand, Taiwan taking a niche of the pie. Either you be jack of all trade, master of none or master of everything, or you can opt to specialise in one of these fields. Be it in equipment or fish or plants. The thing with life is that there is always something new out there for you to explore, understand your own limitation, explore and expand that field...I think is one that needs to undertake.

After two weeks, I am still at lesson 1 and 2. I am slower learner than most of you. I more practical person so I did a test on my 2ft to simulate boom. I got a boom, 3 days, losta plants half dead with algae but it was the recovery period that really really amaze me. How the concepts in the basics was being applied to the 2ft just on balance itself. Lighting itself certainly not perfect but really plays a major role.

Not exactly, I ask why at times. Why must nutrients be absorb by the fauna? What if the nurtients are not absorb? How much damage would that cost? How much repair work will need to be done? Affect fish? Affect plants?

Well, better try it when you do not have expensive fish or plants inside, correct? Having type 2 and 3 difficulty plants inside, good platform to test already. ADAjournal basics start from soil. Confirm I have not try that yet definitely. My future tank I will let it cycle for one month before I try anything more stupid. And yes I would like to try out the basics even with my 2ft. =) It's part of my unlearn and relearn habits. I always do that to improve myself.

Hm... that great. By the way before I started off with the planting, my tank was running for a month to five weeks.

Added on to Fauna because found two with worms in the tank therefore quicky added on 10 Neon Tetra to take care of the worms.

May re-start the planting process again, because I do not know if I have done it the correct way. Ultimately this is suppose to be a low tech tank, result from the planting should be slow.

Still considering if I should re-work.

    Cheers

Usually fish would be alright if the food and the water is ok. Then you would need to take care of the soil and plants, so long we don't select ph altering stuffs without knowing what it does. The concept of ADA would be as natural as possible and it is not even Zen. Zen or Kanji is more related to that of buddhism and certainly not the same with Hanja (Chan2). People has misunderstood when using these words. Japanese avocate not to be as close to as nature but to integrate with nature.

Perhaps you are watching mask rider or ultraman, then you see there is a pond in the house. Just looking at the pond, the water drip against E.g. big jar to produce dripping sound. A Temple with a central beam of tree in the centre in Koba and was one of the builting that survived the earthquake. This really is integration.

As for us, killing worms means learning to introduce a predator, but we tend to introduce too much, therefore altering the tilt or off balance. Something we need to constantly remind ourselves. So suddenly you realise we can't depend on impluse buying, we have to be selective, extremely logical. That is the fun and lesson behind. Is that all? Nope...like you said, have to be patience. If we have tied some moss on wire mesh, we have to wait for it to grow. Patience is something we cultivate and walk beside. Stop walking and it is gone from us.
