You can also try Choong Sua Aquarium. Saw them just a few days ago. Very sensitive fish apparently. Very hard to keep it alive. There are the red type and the purple type going for around S$20 to S$30 per piece. Also previously spotted at Biotope.

    Cheers,

Why i choose espei? cos it's nice and very rare over here..

Pencil fish are somewhat schooling fishes, better to keep them in the tenths..or 20s...
It's just like saying keeping 2 tetras..not very nice isn't it...
    Cheers!

Personally, I like them all. From the S$0.60 rocket to the S$30 coral red. I also like the copella species, which is very closely related to the nanostomus species. The anostomus species grows to big for my liking.

Anybody seen the three line pencil recently? The one with the blue tint at their lower fins.

    How about this one?

    Nannostomus anduzei

Discovered in 1987, this species only grows up to 1.6 cm. Not often seen here.

    Hi lvanilla,

I got it as a contaminant with a bag of copella nattereri. Now feeding it with catfish pellet and live tubifex worms.

You seems very interested in nannostomus species. Perhaps we can swap sightings next time.

That's because you only interested in espei. Not the other pencilfishes. But if you are interested, we can talk about the special ones. I help you build up your collection. []
