Got a funny problem never heard or encounter before.

My Bronze Corydoras (Corydoras Aeneus) had the body colour fade off! Same goes for 2 of my Kuhli Loaches! The stripes on my Kuhli Loaches had "faded" off!

Anyone had similar experience on this?

Any medication or special stuff added? Any presence of NH3/NH4 or NO2?

I've had the colours of my kuhli's(only, other species were fine) fade off, and it started when I didn't change water. Could be because of high nitrates or stress?

Try to recall what changes was made. The fishes are likely to be stressed.

Well, no medication or other stuff added. And I do not have any test kits for NH3/NH4 and NO2.

But PH is normal. The only thing I can think of is my infrequent water change.

Change water. Without this, hell can break loose anytime in the tank.

The cause might be due to mineral and/or vitamin deficiency.
Try adding trace element & vitamin.

With the extremely hot weather that we're facing these few days, I try to do more frequent water-changes, at least twice a week...

Eversince I upgraded to my new 4ft tank... The thought of changing water makes me feel lazy.

Imagine I have this tank for 5 months already and I only did 3 water changes (50%).. []

Ahhhhhhhh...gotcha...you are the cause of all the problem.....Get a long python to hook it up to your washroom tap for topping up of water as well as draining...pretty easy. What's the problem?

i suggest cleaning your filter as well just to be safe. regular water change weekly (partial) will save u from all those problems, u may not even have to bother to use those test kit.

I always believe in this -> good quality water = healthy plants = healthy fishes.

bc is likely to be correct
there are many sources of stress
with the weather these days so screwy, i'd be inclined to think that
still, it doesn't hurt to change the water and clean the filter
    who knows?
    keep us posted

    Hi mercuryscio,

FYI, whenever I just top-up my water, I will keep a pail overnight and then pour the water in.

But if I am to do a water change, then I can't afford to keep 10 pails of water... So I will just connect a hose and drain off the water and then top them up straight from the tap!

    So far so good.

    Hi philtre,

Don't actually see any reddish portion. What kind of things/problems are you suspecting?

My fish is swimming happily and behave quite healthy except for this "colour-run".

reddish colourations can be indicative of internal bleeding
reddish gills are a sign of nitrite burn

since your ph, no2 and no3 are fine, perhaps it's just the weather
but your tank temperature is at 26-28, whereas mine is at 29~31
so seriously, i can't tell for sure
just change water regularly and see how it goes
