Yup I am the one that was afraid to use chemical, hence manually is what I am doing now and also reduce feeding. By the way how many times do you guys feed your shrimp per day?

I only feed once a day, 4-5 granules for about 60 shrimps. In fact, in my nano tank, it's 3 granules 3 times a week for 25 adult & 5 or more baby shrimps. So they can survive on very little. I know someone who fed 1 granule/week for 10 shrimps. The shrimps not only survived, they were getting pregnant & giving birth quite regularly even.

Lots of time the shrimp feed on the micro-organism on the moss. I almost hardly feed my shrimps, they feast on the moss micro-organism, and they gives stunning colour. You can see below pic is my Malayan shrimp with stunning colour, provided moss must be in healthy shape.

    Malayan shrimp.

Hi bros, are you still in the process of eliminating hydras in your tank? If so would you be so kind as to spare me some live hydras?
I need it urgently for my fyp project.
    Thanks in advance.

actually malayan shows the most solid colour of all shrimps, solid black, red, orange. just wondering why no one will try to breed them to have consistant colours

I've been trying to breed them out solid dark brown (almost black) not working, I suspect the females displaying this colouration are sterile..
