Hi guys i have a new 4ft tank. Its planted and i have a few SAE and Otos.
I found my Cherry Shrimp have eggs. What should i do, i remove it out in to a small plastic tank and let it float in the 4ft tank. do the babies need daddy to fertile the eggs or something? or i could just leave it there untill the hatch and grow.
    THANKS

The eggs are already fertilized if you can see them. If you want you can move the pregnant female to a separate tank.

once you see the eggs it means they are already fertile however it will take around 3 weeks before they hatched and in the meanwhile the female cherry might also drop their eggs due to some other factos such as bad water quality, death if unable to moult.

Females can carry unfertilised eggs also, especially very matured females.

Wow learned something new, I'm assuming though, that the eggs cannot be fertilized if they are developed unfertilized already right?

ya, after a molting, a female without mating may carry eggs and when eggs are out, they cannot be fertilised.

    Hey Silane

Need expert advice, sometime I do see them carry eggs, however after awhile the eggs start to tangle on the momny berry and then it drop out on the ground, what may be the reasons? It is also partly because it is infertile and the mommy try to get rid of it?

Infertile eggs rarely ocurrs, so likely either your females is too young and/or the enviroment just not conducive for her.

In most cases, female shrimps will not be able to get rid of whole batch of infertile eggs and that often result in death.
