Just found growth of evil BBA on the leaves of my C. wendtii during trimming.
Directly dosed excel yesterday and today manually remove the larger more visible ones.

Question is: Will this keep them under control till i can get the correct light period/wattage?

This darn algae, just got rid of staghorn 2 weeks and BBA come....

well i had many clumps of BBA growing all over my mosses during the initial stage of my tank, and with direct dosing of Excel onto them all of it turned red then white then got cleared by my snails/yamatos.

Continued with light dosing of Excel every 2-3 days, and its been weeks now and none of it grew back.

However I stopped dosing Excel as somehow it was inhibiting growth of ALL algae.. now i only get green surface algae growing which I dont mind as they feed my otos/snails/shrimp/SAEs. None of the BBA grew back still.

Until you address the problem (co2/ dead spot/ lighting) even with excel it will recur in a week or so

    Cheers

Getting overrunned with BBA and hair/fuzz algea, have been for about 2 months. When you guys mentioned direct dosing of excel, what is the amount excatly?

I've increased my CO2 and dose 2x of what I normally dose for excel.

    I got a 3x1.5x1.5 ft tank.
About 6 bubbles of CO2 per sec.
    4x T5 39watts on for 7.5 hours with CO2 for 5.5 hours.

I have reduced flourish to dosing once every 2 weeks, 10ml.
Increase excel to 10ml every 2 days.

    Any advice?

if you have no shrimps in your tank you can dose up to 2x the amt of excel instructed on bottle each day directly onto infested areas

You mean lower the water level to get to the BBA and spray excel on them?

Also having a BBA attack. Pretty much determined that the darn BBA is just going to recur and going to decomm this tank and redo a new one.

Currently trying to save my plants by cutting clean-looking new growths, washing and soaking them in potassium permanganate then regrowing them under extremely high light conditions in IQ3 tanks to see if the BBA comes back.

so far, only the water sprite had a hair algae attack, but no blasted BBA (cross fingers)
Sadly, I overkilled on the PP and lost all the fissidens
