My diffuser is currently throughly clogged with algae and won't let any air pass thru. Just wondering if anyone can share on how much bleach and water to use to unclogg the diffuser and what are some of the steps and things i should be weary of when doing this.

try something like 30% bleach first.
soak for about an hour and see the results.
if the solution is strong enough, your diffuser will be clean.
after that rinse and soak with plenty of water and anti-chlorine.
make sure that there is no chlorine smell before you putting it back to the tank.

Bleach abit dangerous... I read somewhere in the net to use vinegar (White one more powerful right?) soak for sometime then brush abit or jet spray with water...

After cleaning, put back water, most to most makes water acidic, won't harm fishes right?

perharps u can try 1 part bleach to 5 part water, let the diffuser soak for 1 minute then soak with diluted anti-chlorine solution to remove the bleach.. i have been using this method and so far no problems

    I just use greenwool.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

doesn't matter if you use bleach
what i do is i blast about 50:50 pure bleach to water mix and leave the diffusor there for like 24 hrs
when i take it out, rinse thoroughly to remove all the bleach, leave in the sun to dry out
    that should do the trick

I just use bleach, never mix water, 5 min job. After that blast the thing with pressure tape then rub it with antichlorine and rinse. Then use.

    that'll work too
just use antichlorine to wash it until the sulphur smell persists, then wash with water
    good to go
