    I have a row of the above at the back of the tank. Planted about 3 days ago and it's turning brown and a little rotten at the tip.

    Temp=29degrees
    pH=6.5
    kH=3 degrees
    gH=7 degrees
    NO2=<0.3
    CO2= Sera testcube=ok
    Fertiliser=Base
    Liquid fert= Seachem Flourish added once before at tank startup. Added a bit more yesterday.

    Today, added 50W FL more to my 72W PL. Tank 3ft. Currently, 3W per gallon.

    Other plants - doing ok :
    Middle : Cabomba caroliniana
    Middle : Telanthera Lilacina
    Middle : Hottonia inflata
    Middle : Rotala Macranda

    Should I add more Seachem - Flourish?

    3 Watts/Gallon is high light tank....you would need to keep up with your macro-nutrients and micro-nutrients or else your plants are going to do poorly. This stuff has been discussed over and over again in the forum..kindly do a search. []

    If your other plants are doing ok, don't worry too much for now... vals are known to die back initially. Just remove the brown leaves and wait for them to adapt to your tank. Observe for new leaves.

    Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
    A woman, without her man, is nothing.
    A woman: without her, man is nothing.

    did you cut the leaves at their tips when you plant them? if you did, then they will rot also. i found also that they dun like to be near the outflow of filters, the current seems to cause them to rot a little as well... but seriously, they are strong and easy plants, dun worry, they will grow back soon if everything else is ok. your glosso alive, dun think you will have problems with vallis...

    Thanks. I will take note of the macro and micronutrients. Especially the NO3 and PO4s.

    Just planted the glosso 2 days ago...will see how it goes.

    i think u calculated wrongly i dont think is 3watts /gallon if ur tank is 3x1.5x1.5 should be 2.5watt...anyway my 3ft tank using 144watts PL light and 25watt FL lights so far for abt a year with no problem plants growing well ,algae control...

    hmm...mine's based on 90x44x40cm, totalling 158.4 litres.
    Divided by 3.785, it's 41.85 US gallons.

    With a total of 122W, I should get 2.915W per gallon.
