In general, its not a difficult plant. Depends on which sp you have...
(maybe you can upload a pic of your plant to see which sp you have...)

You just need low PH, high trace elements and a rich substrate base. It doesnt need low temp to grow well.

    Good Luck!!

Hi Gerald, good to see you at Teo's.

One area to watch for with Eriocaulon, is that they seem to be the favourite food of Yamatoes. I had my new $25 worth of E. crineum wiped out overnight
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

when I first got my e cinereum, it kind of lost all the inflorescense and almost died. then it recovered, grew largish. put out tons of inflorescence and died...

lifespan was around 1 year I think...

hwchoy, nice meeting you also.... You're rite... Yamatoes are a pain. They seem to like the fine leaves of plants...

Sky, is your eracaulon sp the type with narrow leaves like the ones being sold at the taiwanese lady at Serangoon or previously at Ah Pek or at Teos? (Called Xiao Gu Jing). Or does it look like the ones at Bioplast (If they are still around ) with thicker leaves (Called Da Gu Jing)?

Both species are pretty slow growing (with Da Gu Jing being the more difficult one to grow) and according to your tank specs you provided, you may want to lower your ph to below 6.5. (The lower the better and at all times should not exceed 6.5 as a general guideline.)

    Good Luck.

hey, one thing about the ADA gravel
the eriocaulon spp. all seem to LOVE it
with no other fert being added other than the ADA powersand, they're growing better than with MHs and sunlight and all that jazz
