hi, can anyone please advise on how many kilos of planted tank gravel to fill a 4 ft by 1.5 ft tank to achieve a 1.5 inches to 2 inches subtrate ? is two packs sufficient ? i am going to use 45 kilos.... btw, it is not for a planted tank, only the substrate required.

    Dennis,

Please refrain from posting multiple copies of the same message. I have deleted the one in Chit Chat.

One way is just go to the shop look at the bags of gravel and then envisage how many bags you will need.

If you want to be precise, calculate the volume of gravel you need in litres and then multiply by 1.2 to get the approximate weight in kg.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Not sure if the offline tank parameter calculator at this thread gives the right amount of substrate/gravel. See http://www.aquaticquotient.com/phpbb...pic.php?t=6495
