You would need to provide us with more info before we can help you....What is your tank size? Fert regime? CO2 level and etc...

beard algae is the kind that looks like curly hair?
you'll have to cut the leave off and change your water like a madman
the only time when i saw that was when i stupidly added base fert THROUGH the water (and no, it's not the stick kind)
took me 3 months to clear it
