Bought this brand Doctor Aqua Rid Double C which is supposed to remove Chlorine and Chloramine from Wu Hu Aquarium. Package says made in Japan and there is a website on the package.
However, when i tried visiting the address on the package, www.doctor-aqua.com, it gives an invalid address. Internet and forum search also turns up nothing. Hence, like to check if anyone is using the above or if it is a scam?
Should have done my research before buying and use the more popular brands like Seachem Prime.
interesting, its a local company.
Shouldn't be too concerned though, Antichlorine/antichloramine is very simple chemically, hard to go wrong its mainly sodium thiosulfate.

The main difference between generic brands and the name brands like API or Seachem is the compound they add to bond ammonia or an additional stress coat inducing component to their antichlorine/chloramine.
Thanks for the links! Ok, at least got some credibility and its not someone just taking mineral water and label it Doctor Aqua.
Well, it's a local company but they keep stressing the "made in Japan"? Priced like a Japanese product too!
There are other similar local products that use the "made in Germany" angle.
I'm assuming that their chemicals are prepared in bulk and shipped from the country on the label, then they do retail packaging locally.
I'm not sure if anyone even verifies the country of manufacture for these types of products.
Doctor Aqua makes FANTASTIC FISH FOOD! just ask my fish..they love mmmmm.....
Just realized that for Doctor Aqua, it is 5ml to treat 20L of water while for Seachem Prime, it is 5ml for 200L. It is almost the same price ml for ml but the amount of water that Seachem can treat is 10 times more. Expensive lesson learnt!
ouch! for the Aquamedi brand, its 5ml to 80L.
AP Genesis is 2 drops to a gallon.
