    hi,

just some question on how to "start-up" new tangan tank.

    1. read this article about fishless cycle
    http://www.cichlid-forum.com/article...ss_cycling.php
where can i get pure ammonia in singapore if i opt for fishless cycle?

    2. or should i get some starter fishes e.g. tiger barbs to produce ammonia? (feel that it's quite cruel to do this.)

    3. what are the kits that i need to test if my tank is ready to introduce fish? how about beneficial bacterial that sells in lfs? what brand do you guy recommend.

    thanks dude.

    Hi flyingfox.
I would go with fishless cycling, much better!
You do not need raw ammonia. You can use things such as dead prawns. They will rot and give off ammonia.
Buy a test kit for Ammonia, NitrIte & NitrAte.
You do not need to add these products you are thinking of. IMO they make no difference.
    Cheers!
