Does it even blow out any air?if not you do better go get it check..because if there is no ventilation the whole thing might overheat

The fan only work when chiller compressor is kick in. So the next chiller compressor kick in, check the air or see whether the fan turning or not.

    Exclamation Re: Chiller FAQ

Confirmed that there's no air coming out of the rear of the chiller. Its still able to cool my water down to 24 degrees. Casing gets hot after awhile. There's sound coming from it; i'm guessing its the compressor working.

Normal, it is always with respect to surrounding temperature. If you set it lower then it will take more time to cool down and also it will take less time to stay cool because your surrounding heating up the water.

ahh..ok thanks very much..maybe i was thinking too much...because going by physics calculation MC Δ (in temperature) =power x time , The amount of time should be the same assuming the heat of the surrounding, mass of water, heat capacity of water and power remains constant. or maybe i should consider the water gaining heat at a faster time too causing it to take a longer time to cool down?

    Re: Chiller FAQ

I used an external probe for my Resun CL-280. Got it online, stainless steel probe. DIY it myself by hooking up the probe directly to the internal temperature controller.

    Re: Chiller FAQ

    @ blurless, noted with thanks.

@ shadow, I was thinking of 2 vents with attached cooling fans (like those pc fan), but not sure if that is enough. Where can I get a guide as to how many hp should I get for my tank? Someone once told me, get x2 of my tank volume but I forgot if he was refering to marine or freshwater.

    Thanks in advance.
