I think most ppl don't... the pressure isn't big enough to cause those joints to detach.
Hi,
The In and Out rubber hose of the external filter are connected to a U shaped plastic tube each. These 2 U shaped tubes are supposed to be hung on the aquarium tank so that water can be filtered.
When connecting the rubber hose to the U shaped plastic tubes, I just do it directly. But how do you guys ensure that the connection between hose and tube will not come off accidently - thus causing flooding??
Do I use sealant? or is there a gadget that ensures that?
Thanks. I know that NA uses some DIY PVC or something like that.

Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
the plastic tube is slightly oversized when compared to the rubber hose. so the elasticity of the hose will prevent it from slipping off the plastic tube.
anyway, if it worries you, get some hose clamps from hardware shops. just make sure that the hose clamps do not get submersed into the tank water. they rust.

just to add on is that when the rubber hardens, and if you happened to remove it for reasons that requires you to, its best to cut away the old part and re-attach.
