outlaw, u can try any kinda plants provided u can meet the requirements of that species.. fishes doesnt produce enuff Co2 for the plants, so u gotta to supplement that (try DIY?)
Planning to set up another small tank, with dimesions of 30 x 10 x 20 .. so it's like a mini cube.. was wondering if i wanna plant it with some hairgrass and a small driftwood.. can use the co2 provided by the fishes?..

The amount of CO2 might not be sufficient enough for plants to grow well. Perhaps you like to try on products like Flourish Excel (organic compound carbon) instead of DIYing CO2.----------------

Everything should be made as simple as possible...but not one bit simpler.
as long as you are not supplementing CO2 (DIY or otherwise) then avoid plants with high CO2 needs. Right now I have a 30cm cube tank without CO2 and only moss and crypts, seems to be doing well as the water is very cold, and moss and crypts are not CO2 demanding species. On the other hand, hairgrass and glosso would not be a good choice.
why I don't do garden hybrids and aquarium strains: natural species is a history of Nature, while hybrids are just the whims of Man.

No CO2 means you should use less light (2W/gal or less). You're also limited to low requirements plants.
In no CO2 tanks, plants consuption quickly lowers the ambient CO2 levels in the water. In this case, instead avoiding aeration and water turbulance to prevent CO2 lost to air, you'll want to aerate the tank or have strong water surface turbulance to encourage CO2 to dissolve into the water.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
hmm okay so it seems i still need co2 anyway, so i think i will stick to DIY, thanks guys
