The stains is caused by the prolong exposure of heat from the lightings. Is there anyway to remove the burning stains from the lighting protector plastic sheet? []

    nope.
you'll need to change it if you don't line the yellowish tint.

that should be made of acrylic.
    check with lfs.
think someone mentioned a hardware shop at serangoon north as well as a shop in bras basah complex.
there are some shops along jalan besar (near sim lim tower) which makes stuff out of acrylic so maybe you can check with them.

I think the acrylic sheet is there to prevent fish from splashing water at the lights or for those running overhead filters that causes a lot of water splashing.

My DIY PL lights have no acrylic. My fish are calm. My tank water is calm. Lights tubes are secured and have no chance of falling into water.

Maybe you try for a day or two to see if you can do without it.

the stain will reduce the light by a small amount.
i believe the stains are more noticable at the ends of the tube, which is the hottest part of the tube.

you can just remove the acrylic if there is nothing that will splash water onto the tubes.
