I have this algae thats grren and grows like a small tuft of fine hair. Is this hair algae? Pencilfish will help?

perharps vinz, u could have the algae that most ppl want in their planted tank, go to our database, we have a pic of it there.. if its not the same.. then my guess, its hair algae.. yamato, pencilfish, mollies, platy do eat them
You mean Chlorella vyulgaris?
The ones in my tank are darker in colour and much smaller. I can see the resemblance though. Well, the yamatos are not eating it and there are 4 or 5 tufts here and there on my drift wood. I'll leave them alone for now and see how they look.
I think I have a larger specimen in my office tank.
