I have been having Red Tiger Lily for about 5 months. It has over time grown from immersed to emersed. The stem has grown long and now most of the new leaves are on the surface. Is this normal? Any way to make the leaves immersed again? []

Just cut away the surface leaves will do. The new leaves that grows out will be the submersed form.

Don't cut away all the leaves... leave at least 2 open leaves. When a few new submersed leaves open, then cut away the remaining floating leaves. Keep trimming away leaves that are too tall. It'll keep growing leaves to replace the pruned ones.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

ideally you should cut them off BEFORE they reach the surface
you can 'teach' your lotus to stay in the water by doing this a few times
mine stopped trying to reach the surface after a while
