    hi,

i've recently bought a second eheim 2026 filter and was delivered without a menu.

it was working fine until i tried to clean up the filter a week ago. upon connecting back the filter, the motor propeller will not move. i've to switch the electrical supply several times in order to trigger the propeller to rotate.
i also discover that the flow rate is inconsistent. it seems like the motor propeller is not functioning properly. it intermittently starts and stops and starts again. i can tell by looking at the water outlet. it'll have a steady amount of water flowing out and then suddenly large amount of water gushed out.

could this be the motor malfunction?

    can i get it replace.

as the price for a new spare part motor propeller don't come cheap, please help me to ensure the fault's origin.

    thanks a lot.

honestly, must see then know. I suggest you clean the propeller, put back after cleaning and ensure nothing stuck there.

when you switch on the power do you feel the powerhead vibrate. Suggest you check if you had position the impeller properly. Make sure it sits nicely on to the rubber bushing.

    Good Luck!
    Cheers!!

thanks all for reply and advise.

i'll check the rubber thingie during my next clean up. do not want to risk switching off the filter or esle it fail to work later.

if it's the rubber thing that is giving problem, can i purchase it in LFS? or have to replace the whole impeller/motor?

    thanks

Better check now, improperly place shaft will break easily or it will not rotate. If it stop moving you risk overheating the motor.

or maybe there are air in the filter... must prim properly.

yes... take out now to check if the propeller sit and align correctly. if motor dun move the motor will over heat and stop. happen to me before, lucky the motor is OK.
