Did you add anything into your tank, like coral chips or baking soda? What are you using for your substrate?
Our tap water usually have low kH. How high was last measured?

Usually pH will rise with KH... very seldom KH rises without increasing pH.
BTW please tell us your readings... rise from what to what? pH readings too...

hi,
before i change water it was 10KH after i change half it was 7KH.
nothing was added beside gravel and drift wood.
errr i thought kh go up ph will go down not up
after water change will it rise back to 10°KH? or stay at 7°KH? How about pH value? Any CO2 addition?----------------

Mambobo, increase KH will increase pH.

Any special stuff added inside the filter? If not, the culprit could well be the gravel.
Mambobo..KH goes up, pH goes up as well..not down..

hi,
After water change it goes down to 7KH. after a couple of days it goes up again. will the KH be stable after a couple of water change??
hi,
PH value maintain at 7 with co2 4 bubble asec. is there any way to lower down the KH beside water change??
what are you using for your substrate?
it would be easier if you could provide more information about your setup rather than having fellow forumers guessing.

hi,
using sera floredepot as based substrate and gravel ontop.
I suspect your gravel contains some traces of coral chips.
Usually pH will rise with kH in coral chips.
But your CO2 rate is high and so can keep the pH stable.
If you like, you can measure your gH as well. This will confirm that you have Mg and Ca in the water. If the gH value keeps rising as well and it is not coming from your fertiliser, then it must be from the substrate.
High kH is not really a problem with plants. But some fish prefer lower gH.

Might be the test kit.
But it's unlikely, more likely that it's the gravel or rock etc.
It might slow down later but it seems a pretty fast KH rebound. I think you must have something like CaCO3 or some other CO3 based rock in there.
