HC Problem? Yellow color at the edge of leaf?

Hi All Bro,

Kindly help me to troubleshoot the cause of the HC Problem.

The HC was bought 2 week ago and was planted 2 weeks ago! But after 2 weeks, which is now, it show the sign of yellow color at the edge of the leaf! look like burning ? As attached the picture of HC.

Not sure why, aihhh!!!

And as well as attach the L.Brasilies <- i think the spelling is wrong. This plant growing so high! Is that my lighting problem? haha.. im getting confuse actually..

My tank spec:

Tank: 24inch x 15inch x 15inch
Canister: 2213 + 2215
Flora: Rotala SP Green, Rotala rotunfondila, L. Brasilies, HC
Fauna: 7 Angel Zebra fish + 11 Cardinal Tetra
Substrate: Power Sand + 9 Litre of ADA Aficana soil (Around 1.7 years ++ ) + Top up around 3 litre Aficana soil recently..
Temp: 27 to 29C
Lighting: 6 x 24W T5HO ( Around 1 Years old )
Hours: 6.5Hours per day
CO2: Solenoid CO2 Tank

Dry Fert Dosing:

Monday - 1/2 of KN03 tsp + 1/2 of KCL tsp + 1/8 of KH2PO4 tsp
Tuesday - Lushgro Micro 5 Drop
Wednesday - 1/2 of KN03 tsp + 1/2 of KCL tsp + 1/8 of KH2PO4 tsp
Thursday - LushGro Micro 5 Drop
Friday - 1/2 of KN03 tsp + 1/2 of KCL tsp + 1/8 of KH2PO4 tsp

Saturday - Water Change 50%

Any advise ? hmm

The older leaves of HC looks like melting and turned yellow I suspect its due to the lack of Nitrogen.

You may try adding nutrient Seachem Nitrogen and Phosphorus.

haha, actually i success to grow HC with this temperature before! THis is the third times i regrow HC in my 2 ft tank.

so not sure what happen for this time.. fail miserable ar! other plant are pearling a lot, and as well as algae also pearling a lot just that the HC look like dying hmm.. i still cannot figure out the root cause of it.

Is that lighting? Is that nutrient ? hmm.. surely it is not due to temperature!
I can see lots of CO2 coming from my Boyu diffuser inline type hmm

Your problem with HC lies with your Africana soil, this soil lowers the PH and KH, especially KH, HC prefers a higher KH. As organic element is low compared to Amazonia, plants grow slowly in Africana soil. Normally people use "Seiyu" rocks with this type of plant but most people do not know this type of rocks produce higher KH which HC prefer.

Well you mentioned 6x24w t5ho, w/o chiller running in 1 hr of lighting my tank can heat up to as high as 30 degrees let alone 6 tubes.
My opinion is the temp is too high
Have tried different methods but even if its changing from emersed to submersed form, it did not "nua" , only yellow leaves

Just my few cents worth hope it helps. Whatever the case don't give up! Get a fan to blow the light fixture?

My Tank KH is 3 hmm.. <- i will try to increase it hmmm...

ahhh, look like im going to NUKE the tank again!!! =.= the BGA is start to appear on top of the soil.. .and my soil is pearling due to BGA haha..

Do you guys think that Lighting is the ISSUE? hmm... my lighting is around 1 years old..

My tank temp around 26 to 29C hmm, doesnt think that it is the root cause.

or 6 x 24W T5HO is too much for 2 ft tank? I turn on 4 x 24W T5HO, but the plant doesnt really pearling, then when i turn on 6 x 24W T5HO, plant pearl and algae also pearl

Yellow leaves of HC is a lack of Fe.
