IME with APP, higher K and NO3 keeps them going longer without turning yellow/brown. It also prevent the plant from melting.

Not much experience with glosso. Personally, I dun like them.

Errr... TBI, APP grows as fast as glossos if not faster. APP also grows thick and tall if you do not trim them.

PS: TBI, the APP I reserved for you is starting to rot away... dun want them anymore?

Mandz, I should have some by then. But each trimming will not be much, they propagate very fast though. I started with only 1 strand of APP with about 8 leaves.

Check with me again. (You can PM me.)

    bclee--

Can spare me some when you harvest your APP?

I used to have quite a bit but gave all away. should have kept some if I want them back... like now

IMO, APP is more forgiving then Glosso, ie. is they are easier to grow
    ...I love rubies too ...

Personally, I find APP easier to grow and maintain... but when they die, they go much faster then glosso.

Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.

    Liam,

Go look in the Aquatic FAQ and see the thread "Glossary".

    app grows very fast.
given the required nutrients, starting with a few app and in 4 weeks time, you could be posting to give away app.
they melt very fast too. 3-4 days of low nitrates, you'll find that thay transform from lush green to a yucky mess of melting leaves.

    Hi Liam

APP is Ah peck plant or Elatine triandra. Why do they call it ah peck, i have no idea

Vinz, I think there is no glossary trend at the FAQ forum. Maybe shld ask the administrator or mods to create a perm one for us newbies. Some ppl are interested in the discussion but get really put off by the extensive use of abbreviations. Thanks!
