Use ketapang Leaves, peat moss or Aquasoil Amazonia
hi, from what i've known and tested by myself, the tap water in singapore is really low in carbonate hardness (KH) and the pH will crash if not properly buffered. to create hard and alkaline water is easy just add in the necessary buffers like coral chips or commercial buffers to increase both pH and kH. However, how can i create soft, acidic water which has a STABLE pH? an example will be to create an evironment of pH 6.0 and kH of 4. Any views, opinions and advice are welcome.

Use ketapang Leaves, peat moss or Aquasoil Amazonia
You can add a bag of peat granules in your filter.
But I don't think you can just add them and forget it, you will need to monitor and remove them once the desired water parameters is achieved.

hi ahhian
You can try to throw in pineapple skin to lower and stabilize the water's PH like I did on my 6ft palu.
wow, eddy, thats something new.
all i know is pineapple is more on acidic side

thanks for the suggestions! the pineapple skin is an interesting one maybe i'll try out and see if the pH will be stable. I'll try out the peat granules and Aquasoil Amazonia as well to see which of the methods suit me best. Once again, thanks for the suggestions.
