    you cannot use it with taiwan regulator unless the regulator already come with flow/pressure control (ie: two gauges).

    ie: if you control until you can do a 1 bubble every 10,11,12 seconds, then its likely you can use it.

    I suggest you go get the taiwan all in one types (UP/JBJ) ones if your regulator is the taiwan type.

    Outlaw,
    Many people got mixed up, thinking that solenoid means the whole set of Regulator + time control.

    It could be also people refering it in short 'Solenoid'

    But for the real thing, Regulator is regulator and Solenoid is solenoid. You need Regulator+Solenoid+Needle Valve altogether to create wonder.

    I have also checked with bioplast,
    Regulator = $185
    Solenoid = $85

    Together cost $270 and both make in Germany.

    Please don't mixe this parts, half taiwan and half German. It defeat the purpose altogether.

    Outlaw,

    JBL is branded, also cost high200 to 300+ dollar, not too sure, sound like from Europe. check www.jbl.de

    JBJ, is definitely from Taiwan (I bought one) 150 dollar.
    It appear to me that JBJ want to immitate JBL and confuse the consumer.

    Again your question is about Budget, budget, budget.... It is no point shooting for quality and no $ to pay for it, just like me.

    Cannot compare JBJ to JBL, just like cannot compare Diamond to Crystal. If budget constraint, Crystal is good enough.

    penny price for penny quality, rule of thumb.

    correct, my up brand regulator/selenoid/needlevalve is only 140, generates no heat. and no noise (at the current moment). JBJ brand generates some heat, but is also $130+

    Hey! Juz giving my 2 cents worth:

    Please take note of the output wattage of your solenoid b4 purchase. Those that are too high will cause the solenoid to overheat and fail over time.

    Fyi, my Taiwanese one failed after a year probably bcoz it was too hot!

    Please take note if u are buyin a solenoid separately. Make sure the fitting is good. I've come across dishonest lfs who juz want to unload their wares onto you!

    My preference will be German brands( I use Denerlle) as they tend to generate less heat. Alternatively, u can source for it locally. I came across a local website once that taught you how and where to buy good solenoid, regulator, etc. I think it was less than SGD300 in total for a high-end CO2 system, a fraction of German brands but equally good performance!

    Cheers!

    Loupgarou,
    do you mean this regulator A101?
    http://www.up-aqua.com/ee_up_plant_04.htm

    You can contact sole agent in Singpore :
    ADEC Trading & Service

    Call 100 to ask for the no., I have lost them, and the no. on phonebook is outdated.

    They don't sell to home user though...they will refer you to the aquarium which carry their product.

    Taiwan is selling only like S$40-60??

    mine happens to be up brand. (it came in a JBJ box though).
    really is no hit. the temperature if any is 38 to 40 C.. (ie: I feel only light warmth, not even enough to keep you warm on a chilly day...)

    well, it should be the A101 model.

    yes, it is no heat, you're welcome to prove it yourself. however due to difference batch/ subcon tender etc, I make no guarantees except to say "mine doesn't give out excessive heat"
