Pls give me your earnest comments.

For the 1st few pics(numerical numbers), that tank doesn't have CO2, just 5 hrs of lighting (2x18FL-DIY). I'm using black styrofoam for background and terrace.

For next few pics (alpha letters), that tank is with DIY CO2, 8 hrs of lighting (2x18FL).

ps: the pics are taken from a friend in another forum.

Derrick i like your "terrace effect" for one of the tanks.
Did you get your inspiration from those popular discus setups, with plants behind the terrace and just fine sand in the foreground?

But i think you can do better with a "brick effect" fibreglass piece instead of the dark piece you are using.

something that looks unnatural but somehow very pleasant at the same time too.

    Hi Derrick

    Nice setup. Some questions:
    1) Is dat cryptocoryne tonkinensis in one of ur setups (long stringy plant)? Can tell me where u got it?

    2) Wat is it dat u used for the terrace?

    TIA.

Nizz: Got that cryto from Teo's which is cheaper than u buy at lfs.

I'm using those black styrofoam used for background. Since I've some leftover, I thought of using them as terrace which works well for me, never float up.

lsz: I also prefer that look for that tank cos its simple, no CO2, no fan, just lights which I gotten from Sherwin (meant for DEA but I got and used it).

As for the other tank, DIY CO2 but I dun have time to do some arranging or trimming so its very messy with the balansae and water sprite growing anyhow.
Not much luck for hairgrass or APP (left only a small area previously given by Jacian). Shouldn't have given up E.tenellus which used to cover most of the foreground!![]

    derrick,
you may want to tie some moss on the styrofoam terrace to smoothen out the step.

Simon, I wanted to fill up the water but my mum don't allow, she insisted that I cannot fill up to the brim, later the fishes or water might splashed out, so no choice.[]

Wat should I plant to cover the terrace, my moss not euff and hope to try out other plants.

Pls try and see if the following link can work or not.
Just click on the pic or inbox.
