    Hi all

I just discovered this wonderful website today. Been interested to setup a 3ft planted tank since a month ago - still very new to this. Been going around fishshops, talking to some friends, reading books..... but have not bought a single thing (treading very carefully). Just saw all the tanks posted at My Tanks. Got some idea what I want, but thot the experts out there can help me list things to buy. Very confused about the type of canister filter .........

    Read this.

There is no "beginner" filter. Choose the filter based on your tank size. General guideline is that the flow rate should be 2 to 3 times the water volume of your tank per hour.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

I am wondering what is the major different between eheim and atman? Is eheim very much better than atman as the price is very much higher. Pls advice as considering of buying an external filter. Ths!

eheim = american product with 50+ years of testimonials, some filters have run past 20 years

atman = taiwan or china product, uses same size spare parts as eheim, since eheim parts are readily found , its a good thing. this is a cheaper alternative, but quality unknown

    Eheim is German.
    History of Eheim

My next favorite is Rena, made-in-France. Quite nicely built. Cheaper compared to Eheim.
