    Hi folks,

I've seen some really beautiful tanks that appear to have different tiers of plants in the background. How is this possible ? Is it using driftwoods to prop up the shorter plants ? I've seen plants of different species growing among taller plants and seem to appear from nowhere. Surely they need some kind of support to grow on right ?

    Thanks.

    Cheers,
    Peter

Many plants in bright lights grow low and away from the bunch. When the node ends up in a darker area, they start to grow upwards and appear to pop out among another buunch of plants. Hygrophila exhibits this.

Some plants send out "creepers" from the main plant and then send up shoots from its intermediate nodes. A plant I have (Rotala Indica, I think) does this.
Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:
A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.

Hi peter, some people uses terrace to achieve that effect, whiles they simply trim their plants to give them that effect, one factor is the lights.. coz thet r bunched together, the bottom portion of the plant which is shaded must have enuff light
