Has anyone tried using a sulfur denitrator to remove nitrate in freshwater aquarium?

What size is your tank and what fish do you have in the tank?
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.

    Re: Sulfur Denitrator

I've never heard of a sulfur denitrator being used on a freshwater tank, probably because it's easier to just do water changes, or plants into the aquarium.

Saltwater changes are a lot more involved / expensive.

    Re: Sulfur Denitrator

That's what I thought too as the sulphur build up could do more harm than good. A water change is more safer than a sulphur denitrator, even if there's a lot of fish.

Nah, I still advocate water change. Run it through the ro/di unit and store the water for water change. I am afraid of the sulphur presence in the water column, which might be harmful to your collection.
