    Hi

    Can any brothers share information on how to get rid of the fishy smell of tank. I am using ohf. 1st layer wool. 2nd layer jap mat.3rd layer biohome. 4th layer zeolites and coral chip. I change abt 20% water every other day. By the way the tank consists of 10 baby goldfish.

    Also you might want to consider changing from an OHF to a canister filter.

    Don't feed so much..

    zeolite .. activated carbon.. great choice..

    don't change water so often.. with reduced feeding this is ok ..

    i agree with activated carbon method but it is advisable to use for only 1 month if not bad toxic absorbed by the carbon will be released back into the water

    Activated carbon .. does not release what it has absorbed.. this is a myth/fallacy that is constantly repeated..

    it does have a useful life once out of the sealed package..
