Hey guys, there something wrong with my common goldfish. Yesterday, he was swimming slightly off-balance. Today, he's been 'torpedoing' (twisting 360 degrees) frantically around the tank. And his tail, which was white, now sports several red veins. Any one knows what's wrong? Thanks in advance!
P.S.: It's a he as he has tubercules around his gills.
Hi, is the belly swollen? I think it could be dropsy, which is hard to treat. However, dont despair. You may want to change 25% of the water, adding only conditoned water treated with anti-chlorine. Remove any gravel, if any, and use a water siphon to vacuum away the debris as well. This disease is, for the most of the time, attributed to bad water quality.
Reduce frequency of feeding to once a few days. Remember to remove any activated carbon from your filter if you decide to apply medication.

Belly is not really bloated. Separated him from my 2 other goldfish..Seems to have a lot of trouble controlling his movement. Body is slightly bent. He's now in a salt bath. Very sad to see like this
tails with red veins are usually signs of bad water quality... i also learn about this only last week... if corrective actions are taken, the red evins will go away. \but if the situation is not corrected, the red veins may develop into fin/tail rot which may eventually eat into the body of the \gf.. so beware... good luck!
