I thought they are saltwater creatures ( 前线追踪 channel 8 ) else some may end up in our reservoirs.

You can find it in various LFS currently and it should cost you around $50. Grap it while stock last.
Now there are both saltwater jellyfish as shown on channel 8 and freshwater jelly. I heard saltwater type will suit more of a marine setup. My jellyfish just live in a tank filled with aged water.
I am still trying to find out more about it. I place them in a 1.5ft tank with just aged water. No airpump and filter required. I believed they can withstand a temperature of 26 - 30 degree. Feeding wise i fed them once in every 2 days with boon. They max size heard is only around 50 cent coin and only got a lifespan 6 month. Till date that what i know
can try reading up more on this link.

very interesting, one thing i know tanks keeping jelly fish better to have circular tanks to prevent them from bring trapped at a corner.
One very important thing, you touch the jellyfish, any side effects such as itchiness?

very interesting to know that there is a freshwater jellyfish. I always thought that they are sea water creatures.
Interesting, a freshwater jellyfish species that can survive without a Kreisel tank?
Keep us updated on your progress rearing it!
26-30 degree. That is quite warm for my taste. Better find more info on this species.
If you've learnt, teach, if you have, give.
Don't walk behind me as I might not lead, don't walk in front of me as I might not follow. Walk beside me, as my friend.
Mohamad Rohaizal is my name. If it's too hard, use BFG. I don't mind.

I saw tropical fish international at Pasir Ris having alot for sale.
OTF in Pasir Ris has one for sale also...$50...do the jellyfish really eat the boon?...or do they eat small fishes?
ya i only feed them boon.
They feed on freshwater invertebrates and vertebrates if any. As with any Jellyfish species, do not handle them with bare hands, since these might have a weak neurotoxin or some other poison that will cause irritation to your skin or in worst cases, severe allergic reactions.
IIRC, I believe this species requires cooler temperatures to thrive. A report in the Straits Time mentions that C. sowerbyi aka Freshwater Jellyfish, has been known to feed on live mosquito larvae. Perhaps you can feed your jellyfish with live Daphnia/BBS/frozen BW if they'll take it.
A search on Google should give you enough information on their lifespan and captive husbandry. Use this term - Craspedacusta sowerbyi, to search.
Fish.. Simply Irresistable
Back to Killies... slowly.
the prices is quite steep. came across an aquarium selling jellyfish in jb, it is legal to buy over?
so its $8.33 per month for 6mth exclude maintenance fee
very nice but they are small need to buy 5 to 8 in 1.5ft tank then nice with blue lighting... just my point of view
