    Hi everyone!

I just restarted my tank and decided not to include any substrate so its just a bare tank with windelov, a piece of driftwood and some cabomba. However, the problem is when i tested my water pH, it was around 4.5. Very shocking! Since i rearing clown killifish (making a species tank), i would like to maintain my pH at 7. Are there any ways other than using soil substrate?
    Cheers!

Your wood is most likely leeching tannis, hence the low pH. This will continue for quite some time. You can buffer the water by either adding some baking soda dissolved in water into your tank, or add a small bag of coral chips into your filter.

you can try using a ph disc, 1 small tablet can maintain your water at 7 for months. i use that in my 3ft tank and till now its sill maintained at the ph level.
