Would be helpful if you could list your water parameters , like levels of ammonia , nitrite in the water , ph level of water as well.
Where are they housed and with what tank mates ?
Any physical signs of attack , fin loss etc ?
Any sigs of disease upon purchase , no appetite etc

All these info and more than you can provide will help explain the deaths better

Actually, the rams are pretty sensitive to poor water conditions. But once the water conditions stabilize just like mine, sometimes I dun even bother them, feeding them once every 2 days also no problem. Sometimes I didn't change water for a month, also no problem. But my poor plants...[]

Where are you guys getting your rams from? Most of the rams I saw in LFS are very low quality or balloned. There was a time back when our lfs carry those really beautiful and healthy rams which were more expensive. I am looking for those.

    hi binbeto

perhaps you are not acclimatising your rams before placing them into your tank....I do agree with nick that rams are pretty sensitive to water parameter changes.

I didn't check the parameter but my other fish is doing ok...

They are cardinal, rosy barb, otos, SAE and blue eye puffer.

Think nitrate shouldn't be high due to it's low fish load...

Maybe will do some water testing tomorrow.

I do leave the bag in the water for 1 hour or so... so temperature shouldn't be a propblem..

They look "happy" and healthy the next day.. Then suddenly.. die...

    binbeto,

why not try to mix your tank water with the water from lfs.
something like add 30% volume with tank water and wait for 1 hr.
add another 50% volume and wait another 1hr.
finally add 100% volume and wait another hr.
then scoop the new fish into your tank.

just wondering, don't you quarantine your new fishes before introducing into your tank?

Maybe will try that.. but I think not advise to add lots of LFS water into the tank as their water is mostly quite unhealthy..

I got no quarantine tank so can't do that.

binbeto, while you're floating your bag of rams in your tank, that's when you can add a little bit at a time, of your tank water into the bag.

you're absolutely right, that we should try not to put any of the lfs water into our tank.

so, as you floating the bag, add the water. then later scoop the rams into your tank.

    binbeto,

    you are right.
don't add any of the lfs water into your tank.
scoop the fish, not pour into your tank.

for me i normally quarantine new fishes for about 2 wks before adding into my tank.

as for quarantine tank, why not get a medium size plastic tank.
