If I'm not wrong, Tropica did a presentation about the trip at last year's AGA confenrence. There were some posts in the APD about that talk and apparently, Tropica found Echinodoruses growing very well in very hard and clear water.
How many of you missed the slide show at http://www.tropica.com/brasil.html ?
I missed it even though I have visited Tropica site so many times this year. Looks damn shiok.

Vincent - AQ is for everyone, but not for 'u' and 'mi'.
Why use punctuation? See what a difference it makes:A woman, without her man, is nothing.
A woman: without her, man is nothing.
Yes. I read that report. But did not see the pics which are really heavenly.

I have stated similar finding both in CA and in FL.
This is where some of the nicest examples of lush planted natural scenes occur submersed.
E. berteroi which is a native to only a few regions in the US was found in extremely high GH, over 600ppm as CaCO3!. Several other plants also.
The Ichnetucknee river which is about 10km long is a hardwater clear river, same for Rainbow and many other springs in FL/TX.
Whether it's Brazil, IndoChina, India, Africa or even Florida, you all need to float down a river full of plants and peer into the planted abyss at least once before you die.

Tom Barr
