Gathering inspiration from the moss wall, I tried housing some excess plants in pots and stuck them to the tank walls as in the pic:

This way, the plantlets still get their light and nutrients. We don't need to plant/place them in the substrate so that your aquascape is not disturbed.

    Cheers!

    KF,
are the plants still in the original wool?? I thought that stuff wrecks havoc on the tank's nutrient balance...

i tried this before too. in fact, the plants can even grow emerse after some time if left in this state and hang nearer the surface. Very interesting. but concealing the pot such that it does not spoil the asthetics of the tank is rather troublesome.

    Budak,

Can you explain how the wool wreck can havoc on the tank's nutrient balance? I always thought that the only problem with leaving bits of the wool around the roots is that it will hinder nutrient absorption via the roots.

Really? Didn't know... the wool were from the original pots of plants I bought earlier.
What damage can it do? I thought wool is inert.

cos i thought farms grow the plants emmersed in the wool-pot in some nutrient solutions (which contains don't-know what)..... that's why they look so robust in the lfs.... but i could be wrong...

Soak with high concentration of nutrients I think.....might be toxic to fishes...or it might just be a myth. Putting them in pots might stunt its growth?

Hey! [] Fantastic idea. Maybe I'll do something with my little terra-cotta pots.

cheh... I thought the wool they used are abestos or something toxic in itself.
The wool I salvaged were rinsed and soaked in water before use. So far so good; some even doing better because they are nearer the lights. I also insert a few pellets of Root Monsters sometimes to ensure the plants have enough nutrients.

Actually I kept them in hanging pots temporary so I can exchange plants with other folks in future. That's what my topic said - "cultivation".

Won't terracotta pots be too heavy? won't be easy to suction cup them to the tank wall. Maybe you could grow moss on the outside of the pot... or get a big pot and grow ferns there.. hmmm...
