think 6mm is kind of on the thin side, safer to have a center brace.. But the question is, was there one at the first place? or was it taken out?
For a 6mm thickness glass, going center braceless may be a big risk....Unless you are dealing with 10mm perhaps its possible with bottom bracing.

The tank comes with top center bracing. But bcos it will be blocking the light when it gets dirty. So I was thinking getting one w/o the top center brace. As I have seen from books some of their big tanks w/o any braces. They look beautiful. Aquatechnic tank is also w/o braces on top. But so expensive! I can't afford mah. So I was thinking of buying one w only the top side bracing w/o the center bracing.
Can consider Euro-bracing. i.e. the bracing goes round the perimeter of your tanks. My 5ft, 12mm glass is made this way.

Juggler's tanks
like how the bioplast tanks are braced ....Juggler?
How does your center brace become so dirty till light cannot penetrate?........as for me, my center brace has geen algae growing on them as sometimes my water level is alittle high...but it still does not block out the light.........
