I used to have this kind of water when I first set up my tank, it went away after a couple of weeks though. Oh, and if I remember, I used those "anti-cloudy" mixtures too.
Hi can any kind bros here give me some advice or help on my tank water?
The water is greenish-brown look abit like diluted green tea. Weekly 50% water changes are conducted but still no to avail.
Sorry for the poor pic quality used my handphone to snap in desperation but the cloudiness is very visible!
Some stats of the tank:
ADA Amazonia 1
Filter: Atman-600
Mr Aqua bio rings
Activated carbon
White wool
Black sponge
very desperate already because the water has been cloudy for like 1 month (tank started a month ago).
Hope some kind bros can help me out here!

I tried using the anticloudy mixtures since last week already and doesn't seem to work =(. Seriously puzzled.
Anything wrong with your tank? Thinking out of the box. Even with ADA I quite unlikely the cloudiness persist for so long.

after sieving through old threads, I suspect it could be a bacteria or algae bloom. Would adding a UV sterilizer help? sigh. I don't think it has anything to do with my filtration and BB should be enough.
Can try using a sponge filter
There is a very interesting thread in another forum "arofanatics.com" where someone (TS) suggested using magic clean paper (dry version) to filter fine particles. The type that is used to clean the floor. Some people have tried it with good reviews. U could place a piece in your filter media and update us on effects. Does this mean magic clean paper sales will increase?
this is more related to bacteria. it will settle down after sometime. What filter you using? UV wont help it, UV works mainly on green water, the first 2 month try not to use UV as it will slow down the bb grow.

Hi bros, yes I have seen the magic paper method but I have not tried it as I believe the problem does not lie with fine particles that can be trapped by the polyester paper material but like Blue has said I believe it to be due to bacteria bloom too. Think the photo does not show it but it is quite green though not green until can't see.
Eh sigh I already bought one before seeing this ROARR hahaha after 2 days it seems to be more visible though still greenish tang.
Bros can pinpoint any reasons for the bloom?
Thankss =)
can try use crystal clear powder type instant effect after 2hrs but have to change your fliter after that cheap n good
Solved my problem with a UV filter.A worthy investment if you want a quick fix. Now water is very clear although still got a bit of colourisation. I am not sure if its due to the ADA Ammazonia.
I've encountered this before too, and i also think its some kind of bacteria boom. U can try adding in Biohome Plus into ur filters. It worked for me!
I just bought bio-chem-zorb as a filter media. Cleared up everything. removes smells. stabilizes pH and stuff. great stuff.

the cycling process might not have been complete...since it is jus a 1mth tank. reduce bioload and wait for water to clear

If u on ur filter at highest and wait less then 1 hr the cloud go away ready
Hi Sufianjamal, may i know where you get the Ocean Free Crystal Clear from? Will it be harmful to shrimps?
