    Hi Everyone,

Anyone has any experience with Cryptocoryne Crispulata? (Narrow, copper version of Balansae) I read from the Tropical plant book that it grows from 15 to 30 cm. However, I really want it to grow taller as I have a 2 feet tall tank. I was thinking of using Vallisneria Nanas initially but then I really liked the wrinkled brownish leaves of the C Retrospiralis. So I chose that instead. It is now at about 15cm and it's been 3 weeks in the tank.

So if anyone has any experience please do share. I have seen them in Green Chapter's tank. But theirs is only 1.5 feet in height.

Anyone before I take them all out and replace with V Nanas?

My crispulata/retrospiralis has leaves well in excess of 45 cm. If I had to guess, I would say that some leaves are nearing 3 feet. This plant grows BIG. Plant it in a current and it will quickly show off its beauty.

Hi Tyrone, sorry, but is yours Var. Balansae meaning greener and broader leaves or is it thin and brown? Thanks!

    Hello,

I have two forms: one which has thin crinkly leaves which was brown and green in weak light and which then became red and green in good light. The second form is more green than red. Other than color the plants are identical. I have balansae as well which has a flat "bumpy" leaf and looks very different.
