    Hi guys,

I seem to have a problem here. I set up my new tank with the below.

    1) Biohomme+
    2) Momotoro bacteria house
    3) ADA 2 soil
    4) Old sea mud powder
    5) BT9
    6) Ehiem 2224
    7) Hailea 150 Chiller
    CO2 and diffuser
    9) 3 guppies 4 ottos

Water first pour in and measure after 2 hrs: 5.3PH
    Water after 4 days: 5.0PH
    Water after 5 days: 4.8PH

When the lights and off, ph goes up slightly.
When the chiller is on, ph goes up slightly.

Is this normal when tank just started cycling?

with ADA soil, it is normal. It will go up slowly, after 3 or 4 weeks it should stay around 6. You should not put in your guppies and ottos first.

I put them in to help to cycle the tank. To take out becos of additional ammonia adding which will lower ph again?
thought a few of those does not matter much.

I just afraid they will die due to ammonia leak out from the soil.
